Clinical Study-Portal’s Co-Design Partnership

Why Study-Portal is searching for co-design Partners?

Web-based Clinical Trial Portals have been used in the Life Sciences industry for most of the decade, however the widespread adoption of Clinical Trial Portals has been slow.
A major reason for this slow adoptation is that most Clinical Portals are Sponsor-driven. We call them ‘uni-dimensional’: built to ‘push’ information from the Bio-Pharmaceutical company to the Site.
Our challenge is to create a ‘multi-dimensional’ Study Portal: enabling all clinical trial participants to add and retrieve information from the Portal. In other words, we want to exceed existing Clinical Trial Portals by making our Study Portal Web 2.0 enabled.

And you, as an active user, are an essential part in our design process. Not only to discuss which features to include, but most of all HOW to include them. It is not without reason that one of the outcomes of the ‘Inaugural Congres on Clinical Trial Investigator Portals’ stated that Investigator Portals need: “to be attractive and easy to use for the investigator…”.
Therefore, in order to strengthen our major requirement of high levels of usability, we rely on you as a (potential) customer to define with us how features should be implemented.

What can I gain with a Partnership ?

You can gain a lot with a Partnership. Your main benefit is that you will see a lot of items from your wishlist returned in the Portal Feature list (assuming that your requirements have a common usage).
It is like you get the feature set of a custom built program for the price of an off-the-shelf software package.

What does it cost me ?

Well, actually it will save you money. Co-design Partners get a 50% discount on the initial Portal installation fee. And co-design Partners don’t have to pay the monthly usage fee for a project which is in the co-design development phase.

Is every project or idea eligible?

No, your project or idea needs to be something which hasn’t already been implemented. Or your idea at least needs to add something new or exciting to the existing Study Portal feature set.
Tip: anything regarding Clinical Trial Patient participation or Trial Patient communication will almost certain ‘win’ you a co-design Partnership.

Study Portal is looking for co-design partners who want to enhance Patient participation in a Clinical Trial, like:

  • - use online tools for patient communication during a study
  • - use a Patient forum on study related issues
  • - increase Patient accrual through online information access
  • - reduce Patient dropout through online study feedback
